DESCRIPTION:Postponed due to rain.  Will be rescheduled. \nThe Giles County Democratic Party will conduct a canvassing event on Saturday\, September 14th at 9:45 am. to noon.  Volunteers will meet at the parking lot of the Pulaski Parks and Recreation Center.  If you have no experience at canvassing\, not a problem.  There will be an experienced person with each team.  Come out\, join up with other Giles County Democrats and help us Get Out the Vote. \nCheck back on this page Saturday morning in the event of rain.  We’ll keep this post updated should the weather interfere.

DESCRIPTION:The Giles County Democratic Party will hold the next meeting on Tuesday\, February 17th\, 6:00 pm\, at the Pulaski Rec Center.  All supporters are invited to join us as we discuss the upcoming Democratic Primary and the candidates that have stepped up to run on the Democratic ticket.   \n2-17-2026 GCDP EC Committee Agenda .docx \nMinutes of the Giles County Democrats Jan. 20 meeting \nMike Cesarini\, chairman of the Giles County Democrats\, called the monthly meeting of the party executive committee and other interested party members to order at 6 p.m.\, Jan. 20 at the Pulaski Park and Recreation Center. \nA moment of silence was observed\, and Cesarini led the group in the pledge of allegiance. \nSecretary Paul Manke called the roll of the executive committee A quorum was present. \nPresent were Cesarini\, treasurer Carol Mccomiskey\, Manke\, Sharon Rush\, David Daniels\, Susan Coleman\, Tom Gattis\, Laurie Wade\, Harvey Inman\, Virginia LaDoux\, Ruthie Watkins\, Maxie Trotter\, Hardin Franklin. \nNot present: Janice Tucker\, Susan McCoy\, Roddy Fernandez\, Carolyn Abernathy\, Judy Ashmore. \nSeth Campbell\, District 28 Democratic committeeman\, who’s guest speaker\, said county parties in District 28: Giles\, Lewis\, Maury\, Marshall\, Wayne and part of Williamson\, are active and organized. \nDemocrat Aftyn Behn\, a Nashville state representative\, lost to Republican Matt Van Epps\, in a special election to replace Mark Green\, who resigned his congressional seat. Campbell said the Republican margin of victory was much smaller than when Green was elected. \nPresident Donald Trump has hurt the Republican cause\, which could be reflected in upcoming elections\, Campbell said. \nIn other business: \n• Cesarini gave the chairman’s report. He thanked Giles County Democrats who have qualified to run for offices as Democrats in upcoming elections and urged more to do so. \nSix people from Giles County have said they plan to run for office\, with the goal of getting more candidates to run as Democrats\, he said. \nCesarini is running for county commissioner. \n• Mccomiskey gave the treasurer’s report\, which was approved. Wade made the motion to accept the report\, seconded by Coleman. \n• Minutes of the December meeting were approved. Coleman made the motion to approve\, and Wade seconded. \n• Democrats discussed extending the lease for a billboard for which Rush has prepared messages. \nIt’s very important for Democrats to continue supporting causes that benefit the community\, she said. \n• A report was given on the NAACP. Preparations are moving ahead for the annual Founder’s Day\, an annual celebration and fundraiser at First National Bank at 6 p.m.\, Feb. 28. \n
