Meet U.S. Senate Candidate Civil Miller Watkins in Pulaski on Jan. 13

Watkins is running for the office of U.S. Senate representing the Great State of Tennessee. Born and raised in Bolivar, Tn, Civil is a product of west Tennessee Values. Her mother, a legend in the Civil Rights movement, named her CIVIL as a memorial to the struggles that families continue to experience every day. Civil is a wife of 34 years, a mother of 8 and a Nana of 10.

One year ago, she decided to pursue a life’s dream of becoming a teacher and after serving 5 years on the Fayette County School Board, at the age of 56 she went into the classroom to serve our children. Civil is committed to community service and cultivating a fertile environment where anyone can plant their seeds of Hope, Promise, Vision, and Grit to realize everything their hard work can produce. She understands that the economy, available emergency health care, a woman’s freedom, saving our democracy, and making public schools a First Best Choice are some of the Kitchen Table Issues that we all face.
